Helen Steel has more than 18 years international business development experience including strategic planning, client and stakeholder relationship management, investment promotion, networking and corporate fundraising for organisations in Australia, the USA and Japan.
She was formerly executive director of the American Australian Association’s Boston branch, responsible for expanding the membership base and fostering relations between the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Upon returning to Australia, Helen was appointed the Manger of the City of Melbourne’s Office of Knowledge Capital, establishing a strong network of key government and higher education professionals.
Her extensive knowledge of Melbourne and access to senior government officials, higher education and industry leaders assist in the growth and sustainability of many organisations.
She is presently co-chair of the Melbourne Boston Sister Cities Association, Principal of Helen Steel Consulting, an associate of the c word, an advisor to Cashtivity Labs and a member of the Shared Value Project.
Clients include the OHL Group, Principles for Social Investment, BioMelbourne Network, Hub Melbourne and The Melbourne Review.
